This week, I am providing a link to msn.com's Health & Fitness page because some of the answers to common "facts" that most of us have probably wondered about. Some of them aren't directly health-related, such as the first one that deals with cell-phone usage in hospitals. But others offer some very important information about diet and health. Take special note of Wives Tale #4, which deals with consumption of soft drinks, especially colas and kidney health. In this section, along with confirming that colas are bad for the kidneys, they mention that diet sodas have been linked to weight gain as well. ( For more info on this, see my article, "Diet Soda and Weight gain" in the June issue of "Healthy Beginnings " magazine, pg 44. ) Plus, the section on knuckle-cracking was interesting, simply because this habit has always caused my to worry about the owners of those knuckles!~Christine

Is there a fitness subject that you would like to know more about? If so, email me at cpkarkow@sportswestreno.com and let me know! I'll be happy to find out some info and post it here!~Christine
