Leg Cramps Slowing you Down?

from: July, 2008 issue of Runner's World-A very short article in the "Quick Fix" section.

This week's article is very short and sweet, but can also be very helpful for all of you who may have been inspired by the warmer weather to put in more miles than usual and were rewarded with painful, pesky leg cramps!

Most experts attribute cramps in the calf or other leg muscles to dehydration or fatigue. If you get a cramp, massage the area, and resume running at a slower pace. To help prevent cramps, drink eight ounces of fluid an hour before a run and slow your pace or take more frequent walk breaks from the start of your run.
